BIÑAN—Malaysian squad Sabah started its Philippine preseason tour with a 4-2 victory against Stallion Laguna at the Biñan Football Stadium on Tuesday.

The visiting side, currently in the Malaysian second-tier Liga Premier, banked on an early surge to edge the Philippine Premier League outfit in style.

Skipper Rawilson Batuil opened the scoring with a 34th minute header, while Maxsius Musa added another goal in the 42nd minute and Leuca ended the first half with another strike as Sabah went 3-0 up at halftime.

Azzizan Nordin then converted a 66th minute penalty off a Gino Clariño handball infraction inside the box that eventually ejected him from the match due to a straight red card.

Fitch Arboleda broke the ice for Laguna with a 75th minute penalty, while trial player Joshua Kim added another for the home side with a 79th minute strike.

Sabah will return to action on Wednesday, facing Kaya Iloilo at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona.

Laguna also has a tuneup match coming up on Wednesday, taking on fellow PPL side Ceres Negros at the McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig.
