MANILA—The TNT KaTropa scored their first win in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup after three tries, prevailing against the NLEX Road Warriors, 85-80, on Wednesday night at the Big Dome.

The KaTropa opened a huge 14-point lead in the fourth quarter only to quickly lose it when  Poy Erram shot back-to-back buckets that downsized the lead to 2, 79-77.

However, Roger Pogoy and Jason Castro managed to save the show for them at the very last minute to claim their first victory.

Castro found Pogoy wide open to deliver a dagger three with only under a minute to play.

Pogoy contributed 20 points and 7 rebounds while Don Trollano delivered 15 points and 7 rebounds.

Erram made 19 points, 15 coming from a very hard-fought fourth quarter, tying with Bong Galanza for NLEX, which is now holding a 0-3 record.
