QUEZON CITY—Huge stakes will be on the line in the third season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League.

As announced via the press launch of the new season at the High Grounds Cafe on Wednesday, aside from the US$25,000 (nearly PHP1.3 million) pot for the champion and another US$13,000 (around PHP673,000) for the runner-up, the two teams will also qualify for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup that will also take place in the Philippines.

Cignal Ultra looks to defend its title it won the previous season, while Season 1 BREN tries to get back the title it relinquished to Cignal Ultra.

Well-known local eSports powerhouse Execration, on the other hand, will try to bounce back from a so-so stint last season.

Joining the three teams as direct invites from last season are teams with new identities hoping to translate their new look to newfound success.

Finesse Solid will now play as SG Dragons, SXC Imba becomes Evos, and Aether now goes by the name Aether Altas.

Meanwhile, four teams survived the grueling qualifier phases to join the six direct invites.

Arkangel and sister squad Arkangel Ownage headline the four qualifiers along with No Limit and Finesse Phoenix.

The season begins on March 23 and will run through the middle of the year.

The MSC will take place right after the MPL season.
