UST bucked an early deficit in the second half to subdue La Salle, 3-1 in the second match of the opening day triple-headers of the UAAP Season 81 men's football tournament in FEU-Diliman Sunday afternoon.

The last season's finalists got their groove against the Ang Liga champions after conceding first, as they have won their second successive match on opening day, after blanking FEU last season.

Freshman Jhon Rey Lagura put the Green Archers on the board first in the 14th minute, but senior Conrado Dimacali equalized just three minutes later.

Nine minutes before half-time, Juan Villanueva put the Tigers up for good with a 40-yard free kick to put UST 2-1 up at half-time.

Glen Ramos take all three points for UST with a sublime effort in the 68th minute.
