Davao Occ knocks Bacoor City out of MPBL playoffs, clinches South finals seat

MANILA—Davao Occidental took the first seat in the MPBL Southern Division Finals after blasting Bacoor City, 87-67, in Game 2 of their South semifinal clash at the Batangas City Sports Center on Saturday night.

The Tigers outscored the Strikers, 47-27, in the second half to pull away from a 40-all deadlock by halftime en route to a 2-0 sweep of their best-of-three series.

Joseph Terso and Eman Calo each made 14 points for Davao Occidental, which will meet either Zamboanga or Batangas City in the next round. Zamboanga is trying to close out Batangas City in the other Game 2 being held as of posting.

Gab Banal made 17 markers, seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal for Bacoor City.
