MANILA—Gilas Pilipinas gets an early acid test in this year's FIBA World Cup as it was grouped together with 2014 second placer Serbia following the draw made at the Shenzhan Bay Arena on Saturday night.
Gilas, designated to Pot 6 prior to the main draw, was the third team drafted to Group D.
Aside from Serbia, Italy and Angola were also drawn into Group D.
Group D battles will take place at the Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center.
The two teams with the best records after the group stage will be grouped together with the Top 2 of Group C in the Round of 16.
