MANILA—Rey Guevarra became the second player to win the PBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest for the fifth time after ruling this year's competition at the Calasiao Sports Complex on Friday night.

Guevarra, currently signed with Phoenix, won over Blackwater's Renz Palma in a slam-off that was basically decided when the latter, who scored a perfect 50 in his previous slam, failed to convert his intended routine.

Guevarra still delighted the crowd when he made a comedic dunk in which he just got a clear path after the Fuel Masters, who were lined up as if he will jump over them from the free throw line, just gave way.

Guevarra tied KG Canaleta with the most number of dunk titles and, barring any injury that could sideline him for the next edition, can broke the record as soon as next year.

In the other All-Star side events, Magnolia's PJ Simon won the Three-Point Shootout, while Rain Or Shine's Beau Belga remained as the Skills Challenge champion.
