PASAY—"We have a world title match!"
Stephen Loman and Elias Boudegzdame are now eligible to vie for the Brave bantamweight championship after both pugilists made weight during the official weigh-in for Brave 22: Storm of Warriors at Resorts World Manila on Thursday night.
Boudegzdame, the French-Algerian challenger, was barely within the 135-pound limit as he tipped the scales at 61.2 kilos (134.9 pounds).
Loman, the defending champion from Baguio, was a little lighter at a flat 61 kilos (134.4 pounds).
All the 18 fighters in action for Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena made weight during the weigh-in.
However, the said pre-fight event did not lack some drama.
The two protagonists in the co-main event, John Brewin and Cian Cowley, had a very lengthy staredown during their face-off after the weigh-in.
On the other hand, Gab Dy and Mehmosh Raza also had a heated face-off.
Eventually, the said fighters shook hands out of respect.
