MANDALUYONG--1Bataan took the third seat in the semifinals of the Chooks-To-Go-FIBA 3x3 Asia-Pacific Super Quest after knocking out SSLC, 21-15, at the SM Megamall Fashion Hall on Sunday.
The Risers came alive early on, opening a 7-2 lead behind a balanced scoring from their players, Alvin Pasaol, Santi Santillan, Karl Dehesa, and Travis Franklin.
Xiao Yao scored five straight points, while Bogoliub Devrnja added another to force an 8-all tie, but 1Bataan recovered especially as Franklin took over late to seal the win.
Franklin and Dehesa each made seven points for the Risers, who will next face the Jakarta West Bandits in the semifinals.
Jakarta West stunned Ulaanbaatar, 20-19, in their own quarterfinal duel.
In another Final 8 battle, 3x3 EXE Premier romped Aotearoa, 22-9, with Peter Perunovic outscoring the entire squad from New Zealand with 11 points.
