MANILA—Blackwater governor Silliman Sy is bullish about Aris Dimaunahan's appointment as interim coach of the team for the PBA Commissioner's Cup.

"This may be the break [he] needed," the younger Sy told Dugout Philippines on Wednesday upon confirmation of reports that Dimaunahan was elevated to the head coaching post on an interim basis.

Just as team owner Dioceldo Sy accepted Bong Ramos' resignation, the team did not look further for someone who will take over his post, tapping the then assistant coach, who played for the said franchise when it was still in the Philippine Basketball League as Blu, to call the shots.

"[It was a] management decision," the younger Sy added.

The coaching change came just as the Elite look to rebound from a 2-9 finish in the Philippine Cup.
