Kaya Iloilo demolishes Lao Toyota to keep AFC Cup playoff hopes alive

MANILA - Kaya Iloilo was relentless against Lao Toyota FC and scored a 5-1 rout in their continuing campaign in the AFC Cup at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod.

Jordan Mintah uplifted the Kaya Iloilo through his hat trick, enough for them to be empowered to their impressive win.

He opened first the floodgate in the 11th minute after converting an assist from Marwin Angeles.

Conor Tacagni then closed the first half with his club on a high note after his converted effort in the 40th minute.

Mintah extended their lead to 3-0 in the 66th minute with his second goal.

However, Kazou Honma made the Lao Toyota's heartbeat on revival mode as he buried his shot to cut their deficit into two, 3-1, in the 70th minute.

Still, Kaya continued on pounding the visitor's heart as Yannick Tuason kicked their fourth goal in the 86th minute.

And Mintah closed out the match with his last minute goal to mark it 5-1.

Kaya Iloilo resided in second place in Group H, bringing a 2-2-1 card for eight points.

They will face Home United in their last group match on May 14 at Jalan Besar Stadium, Singapore, and a win will bolster their hopes of making the knockout stages.
