MANILA—The Philippines' campaign in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters came to an end on Friday night as Balanga fell to Liman, 21-9, in the final quarterfinal game.
Balanga could not sustain a hot 3-1 start as Liman showed why it is the number one 3x3 team in the world, pummeling Balanga from thereon.
Aleksandr Vasic went 6-for-6 from the field and put up seven points for Liman, which set up a semifinal clash with rival Novi Sad, 18-13 winner over Ljubljana in another quarterfinal.
After smoking in the pool stages, Travis Franklin was held to just four points for the Risers.
Liman's lucky start to Day 2 stretched to the ensuing two-point shootout as Stefan Kojic won the said contest to go home US$500 (almost PHP26,000) richer.
