SAN JUAN, MM--Rain Or Shine shook Magnolia late into Game 4 of their PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series.

The Hotshots barely survived.

Magnolia escaped with a 94-91 win against ROS at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Monday night just as the team saw its 21-point lead nearly evaporated.

The Hotshots were on pace of mauling the Elasto Painters after taking a 60-39 lead early into the third quarter.

However, ROS slowly chipped the lead away and was within one, 91-92, after a Maverick Ahanmisi layup with four seconds left in the final canto.

Magnolia restored some cushion after Jio Jalalon made two free throws with 3.1 seconds left for the eventual final score.

James Yap had a huge chance of forcing overtime, but his three-pointer hit the back iron as time expired.

Ian Sangalang made 19 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists for the Hotshots, whose best-of-seven series against the Elasto Painters is now reduced to a virtual best-of-three after a 2-all tie.

Rafi Reavis also had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds alongside one assist and one steal.

Yap finished with 24 points, six rebounds, and one assist for ROS, but he finished 2-for-10 from long range.
