Pasig makes quick work of Katara to enter Doha Masters playoffs

MANILA—Pasig punched a ticket to the knockout phase of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters after a 21-14 win over Katara on Thursday night.

Behind locals Taylor Statham and Joshua Munzon, Pasig got off to a hot start, opening a 13-5 lead.

Katara still tried to mount a comeback, drawing to within four, 11-15, but Statham and Munzon once again joined forces in finally sealing the victory.

Statham had nine points, while Munzon added seven for the Kings, who assured a place in the quarterfinals on Friday as Katara fell to Liman, 11-22, earlier Thursday.

Aaron Mitchell also had nine markers for Katara, one of two teams representing host country Qatar.

Pasig will face Liman early Friday (Philippine Time) for the top seed in Pool A.
