MANILA—RJ Abarrientos pulled off yet another fantastic offensive performance as Gilas Pilipinas ended its campaign in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup with a 22-15 win against Samoa in Changsha on Thursday.
Playing through an injured ankle yet still finished with 18 in a huge win earlier in the day against Iran, Abarrientos seemed to be OK against Samoa, scoring 14 this time as Gilas made quick work of Samoa to finish the qualifying phase at 2-2.
Gilas, however, fell short of clinching a spot in the main tournament as Qatar edged Iran, 17-16, to clinch the lone spot for the Qualifying Pool A.
