SAN JUAN - Top seed Ateneo Lady Eagles bounces back from their lost last Saturday against the FEU Lady Tamaraws and also, from last year’s heartbreak as they missed out the finals last Season 80. Ateneo beats FEU in a four-setter match, 25-20, 21-35, 25-33, 25-14, Wednesday night at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
With that Lady Eagles win, they booked a finals seat and they are set to face their first match-up against the UST Golden Tigresses.
Kat Tolentino led the Lady Eagles with 19 points, 17 attacks and 2 kill blocks. While Seniors Bea de Leon and Maddie Madayag chipped in nine and 12 points respectively. Ponggay Gaston also chipped in 12 points, 10 spikes and 2 blocks.
Graduating Captain Jerrili Malabanan led the FEU Lady Tamaraws with 18 points and 16 spikes. FEU’s breakout star Heather Guino-o chipped in 12 points, 12 spikes and 14 excellent digs. Jeanette Villareal also chipped in 11 points for the Lady Tamaraws.
Game 1 of the Finals will be on Saturday, May 11, 4 p.m., at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
