MANILA--Kaya Iloilo banked on a first half blast from Jordan Mintah to turn back Green Archers United, 4-0, at the start of the 2019 Philippines Football League season at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.
In a rematch of their supposed opening night match in the quickly defunct Philippine Premier League, Kaya Iloilo stomped its dominance over GAU anew as Mintah reintroduced himself to the local football community with a bang in the return of the PFL.
Just two minutes in, Mintah struck first for Kaya Iloilo, quickly pouncing on GAU's sluggish backline.
Mintah found the net again for Kaya Iloilo in the 18th minute off a corner kick while completing the hat trick in the 44th minute.
Jayson Panhay joined the fun in the 58th minute as he sneaked past the defense for a close-range strike just after he came off the bench.
