Meralco gets act going in 2nd half, stuns debuting ROS

MANILA—Meralco held Rain Or Shine in the second half to take a 91-84 win in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on Friday night.

After conceding 31 points in the first quarter, the Bolts limited the Elasto Painters to just 32 in the entire second half as they slowly took control of the game down the stretch although the latter still tried to come back.

Gani Lawal made 19 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists for Meralco, which climbed to 2-2, tying Alaska for fifth place in the team standings.

Anjo Caram added 17 points, three rebounds, and six assists off the bench.

Denzel Bowles debuted for ROS with 31 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and four blocks.
