MANILA--The two World Boxing Association welterweight titles will be unified on July 21 (Philippine Time) when regular champ Manny Pacquiao takes on super champ Keith Thurman.

No less than the Filipino eight-division world champ announced the development on his social media accounts on Sunday.

"This summer just got a little hotter!" Pacquiao said.
With the said development, however, Pacquiao will have to vacate the regular belt.

Thurman is no pushover as he is currently boasts a perfect 29-0 record with 22 coming by knockout.

However, five of his last six bouts came via decision, the recent being a majority decision win against Josesito Lopez on Jan. 27 (Philippine Time) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The said match was Thurman's first after a two-year layoff due to injuries.

Thurman, who won the World Boxing Council belt against Danny Garcia on March 5, 2017 (Philippine Time) also at the Barclays Center, had to vacate the said belt due to the long layoff.
