QUEZON CITY—Right on Election Day, a surprise PBA trade surfaced.
As per a report by Josef Ramos of The Manila Times, Rain Or Shine decided to send Raymond Almazan to Meralco in exchange for two future first round picks.
Quoting the Elasto Painters' governor Mert Mondragon, the trade proposal was already submitted to the PBA office by Friday.
Mondragon added that the swap stemmed from Almazan's off-court drama with Coach Caloy Garcia.
Following a rift with Garcia, Almazan went AWOL last October but eventually got back to the rotation after the ROS management just before the start of the season intervened for both Almazan and Garcia to make amends.
