QUEZON CITY--The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas goes into a new age by unveiling its brand new logo on Wednesday night.
"The rationale behind this is that it signifies strength," SBP president Al Panlilio said in a press conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The new SBP logo is some sort of a tweaked version of the old logo.
While the ball design remains, the supposed "head" of a player was omitted, making it just a mere ball.
On the other hand, the font for the caption was adjusted too.
"The [new] SBP logo is slightly fresh," Panlilio continued.
However, the Gilas Pilipinas logo got a huge overhaul.

The SBP went away with the crest design and revealed an eagle wrapping around the basketball.
"It's more of a big change," Panlilio further said.
The new logos are part of a major overhaul in the organization.
The Gilas name, according to Panlilio, will now be used for all the national team programs in the five-on-five and 3x3 games.
