SMB blasts Magnolia to send PH Cup Finals to decider

QUEZON CITY--The PBA Philippine Cup Finals is going full-length.

San Miguel forced a rubber match in the championship series against Magnolia with a 98-86 Game 6 win at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday night.

The Beermen used a 14-1 start in the final quarter to hold off the Hotshots, which came back from 21 down to come to within six after the third quarter.

Junemar Fajardo made 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting, 18 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal for SMB.

Marcio Lassiter, in his best game so far in the series, added 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Jio Jalalon made 17 points, four rebounds, and eight assists for Magnolia, which failed to dethrone SMB on the first try.

Game 7 will be played on Wednesday night at the said venue.
