MANILA--San Miguel avenged its stinging defeat in the opener of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals with a 108-101 win against Magnolia in Game 2 of the best-of-seven series at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Friday night.

But don't let the Beermen's winning margin deceive you.

SMB turned on the jets in the middle two quarters, limiting Magnolia to just 19 second quarter points before going on a 32-point third quarter to blow the game wide open.

Junemar Fajardo and Alex Cabagnot led seven Beermen in double figures with 16 points each.

Ian Sangalang had 18 points, one assist, two blocks, and one steal for Magnolia, but he was limited to just one rebound all game long.

Jio Jalalon came close to a triple-double with 15 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Paul Lee completed a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds with six assists and one steal.
