PASAY CITY - The Columbian Dyip took advantage of their working shots from beyond the arc to slay NLEX Road Warriors, 120-105 at the opener of the Saturday double header of the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena.

CJ Perez and import Kyle Barone combined forces in stopping any attempts of the Road Warriors even at the start of the first quarter.

NLEX, through the efforts of Philip Paniamogan, was able to come close to Columbian through his back to back triples.

That was the only time that the Road Warriors were able to take the lead, 17-16.

Columbian eventually reclaimed the lead at the end of the first quarter, 24-22.

Perez and Barone again combined forces and allowed Columbian to sail away further against the Road Warriors.

The first half ended with the Dyip enjoying a comfortable 54-39 advantage.

CJ Perez's hot hands continued its spell in the third period with three consecutive three-point shots followed by Barone's own shooting spree to tally a 93-67 lead at the end of the quarter.

The final period was even more one-sided as the shooting from beyond the arc continued on for Columbian.

In spite the massive lead by Columbian, Paniamogan refused to call it a day with him sinking in triple after another to cut the lead to 15 at the final buzzer.

CJ Perez tallied a career-high 39 points which earned him Best Player citation.
