MANILA—Gilas Pilipinas Women put up a brave fight but still slipped to China, 12-21, in the quarterfinals of the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup in Ulaanbataar on Friday.

Despite giving up a 5-0 start to China, Gilas Women showed their resiliency and even came to within three, 12-15, with 1:17 remaining.

However, China converted three consecutive two-pointers, two from He Zhouze and the other, which  turned out to be the finishing basket, from Liu Bei, to barge its way to the semifinals.

He matched the entire Gilas Women's output with 12 points for China, while Liu added six and Wu Xianglin contributed three markers.

Angelica Surada led Gilas Women with four points, while Karl Ann Pingol and Ella Fajardo each had three and Camille Clarin added two.
