MANILA - The Magnolia Hotshots avenged their heartbreak loss against San Miguel in the Finals last PBA conference with a one-sided 118-82 victory in the Commissioner's Cup Wednesday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Jio Jalalon lead the Hotshots to their fourth straight win with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists.

Magnolia's 36-point win over San Miguel was the worst defeat of the Beermen in recent history.

Such record was handed over to them by NorthPort after winning against the Beermen by 33 points in their conference opener.

The Hotshots set the pace of the game with Rome dela Rosa drawing first blood at the opening quarter.

They then went on an 11-2 run and extended their lead further to 8; 22-14.

Mark Barroca's triple with 8:10 left to play in the second quarter sparked the Hotshots breakaway from San Miguel, and from then on, the Hotshots were hot hands on the hardwood, with almost all of their attempts in the basket connecting.

Magnolia even led as much as 38 points late in the fourth quarter before Christian Standhardinger scored the last hurrah of San Miguel before the final buzzer sounded.

The Hotshots improved their win-loss slate to 4-2 and is just a notch ahead of the Blackwater Elite in the standings.

The Beermen, on the other hand slid down to 2-4 and is part of the bottom 4 teams in the table.
