Navotas-Rizal game stopped due to slippery floor

MANILA—The showdown between Navotas and Rizal in the MPBL was stopped at halftime after Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes deemed the Navotas Sports Complex unfit to hold the remainder of the game.

The Clutch were leading the Crusaders, 56-39, at the end of the first half, but both teams had to deal with a slippery flooring brought about by the humid condition inside the arena.

The Navotas Sports Complex is not air-conditioned, and only portable air-cons were used to keep the venue cool.

But it did not keep the flooring from taking moisture that made it slippery enough, prompting Duremdes to halt the game from there.

The game will be resumed by the end of the elimination round if deemed necessary.

Last year, Navotas' home game against Muntinlupa was stopped as well due to a broken rim.
