Phoenix pulls off huge comeback vs Ginebra

QUEZON CITY--Phoenix made a humongous comeback in the second half that it preserved to edge Ginebra, 111-103, in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday night.

Down by 13 in the middle of the third quarter, the Fuel Masters went on a 29-6 run later in the third to take an 87-77 lead.

The Barangay still put up a comeback of their own, starting the fourth quarter on a 12-2 run to take a 93-91 lead with eight minutes left.

But crucial baskets from Matt Wright and Jason Perkins helped Phoenix preserve the huge win especially with Coach Louie Alas getting ejected in the fourth.

Wright finished with 32 points, three rebounds, six assists, and three steals for the Fuel Masters, who are now back at .500 with a 4-4 record, tying their victims.

Richard Howell added 31 points, 21 rebounds, three assists, one block, and four steals.

Justin Brownlee dropped 31 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, six steals, and three blocks, while LA Tenorio added 20 points, two rebounds, five assists, and one steal for the Barangay.
