MANILA—A tall frontline consisting of US-based players Kai Sotto and AJ Edu will spearhead Gilas Pilipinas Youth's campaign in the FIBA U19 World Cup in Heraklion, Greece.
The 6-foot-10 Edu, currently playing for US NCAA Division 1 side Toledo, and the seven-foot-two Sotto, who has been training in America following his graduation from Ateneo, are included in the 14-man pool the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas submitted to the Greek Embassy for the trip to Heraklion for the said tournament.
The said pool was revealed on Sunday.
Joining the pool are FEU-FERN's Xyrus Torres, NSNU's Gerry Abadiano, Carl Tamayo, Miguel Oczon, and Terrence Fortea, University of Santo Tomas' Bismarck Lina, Ateneo's Geo Chiu, San Beda-Taytay's Rhayyan Amsali, Letran's Joshua Ramirez, National University's Dave Ildefonso, University of the Philippines' James Spencer, and Italian-based standout Dalph Panopio.
The FIBA U19 World Cup will run from June 27-July 8.
