MANILA—Basilan quickly got back to its winning ways with an 86-83 win against Marikina in the MPBL Lakan Season at the San Andres Sports Complex on Tuesday night.
The Steel came alive in the third quarter, making 29 points for them to break out of a 42-all halftime tie and take a 71-64 lead entering the fourth.
The Shoemasters came back and even took a 78-77 lead with 2:42 remaining.
But Gab Dagangon drained a go-ahead triple that sparked the deciding 8-2 run for Basilan to seal the win.
Dagangon and Bobby Balucanag each scored 18 points for the Steel, who moved up to 3-1.
Balucanag actually had a double-double as he too had 10 rebounds even as Arvie Bringas had his own double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Von Tambeling tallied 18 markers, six boards, five assists, and two steals for the Shoemasters, who dropped to 0-5.
Daryl Pascual made 17 caroms, 15 points, one assist, four blocks, and two steals.
