PASAY CITY - The Alaska Aces needed five extra minutes before they prevailed against the Meralco Bolts in the do-or-die match to clinch the last spot in the playoffs, Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The win ensured them a date against the top seeded team, the TNT KaTropa.
As much as he wanted to get away with the questions involving their next opponent, Alaska head coach Alex Compton was cordial to share his thoughts about TNT and their import, Terrence Jones.
"If we didn't have a good match-up for Delroy James, do we have a good match-up for Terrence Jones? Does anybody in the league have a good match up for Terrence Jones? I actually know a few guys in the league that has a good match-up with Terrence Jones. That league is the NBA," Compton said in the post match presser.
Compton believes that despite the imports of the other teams in the league being competitive, he admits the fact that there is none quite like Jones in the PBA.
"I don't think there's a good match-up for him out here. He's incredible," Compton added.
Compton also mentioned that he credits Coaches Bong Ravena and Mark Dickel for their efforts in involving every TNT player around Terrence Jones.
While Compton knows that they will be having a hard time against the KaTropa on Sunday, he gave an assurance that they will give the top seeded team of the Commissioner's Cup a good fight as they face each other on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
"They are defending fantastically. I think the best match-up for Terrence Jones out here is stomach flu or getting stuck in traffic but in the basketball standpoint, we don't have what they've got. We'll gonna do our best to come up with a scheme that might stop Jones - even if perhaps, he has seen every scheme to stop him in 11 games but we'll see. We'll go out there and play our best," Compton said in parting.
