GenSan mauls Biñan City in MPBL play

MANILA—GenSan went on a strong start and made an even stronger endgame to pummel Biñan City, 100-76, in the MPBL Lakan Season at the San Andres Sports Complex on Tuesday night.

In a battle between teams tied at 2-2 prior to tip-off, the Warriors, who played under the tutelage of Assistant Coach Rich Alvarez with Head Coach Ramon Pido not in attendance, clobbered the Heroes in the first half, opening a 49-27 lead entering the intermission.

Biñan City, however, came alive in the third quarter and even trimmed the lead down to just six, 68-62, early in the fourth quarter.

GenSan regained momentum after going on a 32-11 run to pull away for good.

Robby Celiz tallied 16 points, one rebound, and one assist for the Warriors.

Mikey Williams (15 points and 12 assists) and Delmar Mahaling (14 rebounds and 11 points) each added double-doubles.

James Mangahas tallied 18 markers and eight boards for the Heroes.
