Mighty Sports returns to Jones Cup play with a bang, pummels Indonesia

MANILA--Even if the team took a two-day break, Mighty Sports still showed dominance in the William Jones Cup, romping Indonesia, 94-66, in its return to play at the Changhua County Gymnasium on Friday.

Mighty Sports quickly opened a double-digit lead against the Indonesian national team and never looked back from there as the club moved to within two wins from sweeping the tournament.

Eugene Phelps tallied 19 points, nine rebounds, and two assists for Mighty Sports, which can clinch the championship with a win against Chinese Taipei A on Saturday night.

Renaldo Balkman added 17 points, one rebound, two assists, and two blocks.

In his best game so far in the Jones Cup, Joseph Yeo chipped in 14 points, one rebound, and two assists.

Juan Kokodiputra came up with a game-high 21 points, three rebounds, and one steal for Indonesia, which fell to 1-5.
