BINAN--The scheduled Philippines Football League match-up between Stallion Laguna and Ceres Negros on Saturday was called off.
Rainshowers during the afternoon somehow flooded much of the Binan Football Stadium, and as the rain stopped, both sides agreed that the pitch is not fit for action.
A person privy of the situation told Dugout Philippines that another factor that led to the postponement of the match was Stallion Laguna head coach Ernie Nierras expressing concern that the flooded field will affect how the ball will move, recalling a previous match that involved his club that was played through the rain, in which both sides struggled with the ball slowing down when it landed on a watery surface.
Meanwhile, the other scheduled match between Green Archers United and Kaya Iloilo at the PFF National Training Center in the adjacent town of Carmona pushed through as scheduled as the weather in the said town is relatively fine and is ongoing as of posting.
