PASAY--Eddie Alvarez silenced the Mall of Asia Arena after pulling off a quick comeback to beat Eduard Folayang in the second semifinal of the One Lightweight Grand Prix on Friday night.
In one of the main features of One: Dawn of Heroes, Alvarez seemed to be at the danger zone after Folayang connected on a low kick to his leg that sent him down.
Folayang, however, struggled in delivering the ground-and-pound on Alvarez, and the latter turned things around quickly by setting up a rear naked choke that forced the former to tap out midway to Round 1.
Alvarez will take on Saygid Arslanaliev in the final, that will take place at One: Century in Tokyo.
