PASIG—Coach Yeng Guiao was expecting Junemar Fajardo, Troy Rosario, and RR Pogoy to return to Gilas Pilipinas Men practice by Monday.

However, the three players took the Monday off and instead came back the night later at the Meralco Gym.

Interestingly, Fajardo was supposed to attend another event on Tuesday night, San Miguel's victory party to celebrate its PBA Commissioner's Cup championship at the nearby San Miguel Corporation office in Mandaluyong.

His decision, as it turned out, was a no-brainer.

"Duty call," Fajardo explained why he joined the Gilas Men practice. "Priority ko na ngayon ang Gilas."

Fajardo actually arrived at the Meralco Gym still sporting a San Miguel casual shirt, signifying that he actually dropped by the San Miguel office before leaving quickly.

"Naintindihan naman ako ng mga bosses ng San Miguel," he continued, baring that it was actually the Beermen's executives that gave him permission to leave early.
