PASAY--Edward Kelly failed to sustain a solid start and bowed to Xie Bin at One: Dawn of Heroes at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday night.

However, the supposed three-round fight did not end in a pleasant manner as the said bout ended abruptly in the second round due to Kelly failing to make injury time.

Xie looked to finish Kelly off via ground-and-pound after missing out on a D'Arce submission in Round 1.

However, Xie accidentally landed some punches to the back of Kelly's head, and the referee called for stoppage after seeing Kelly getting hurt due to the unintentional foul.

After checking Kelly, the medical staff deemed he could not continue on, and Xie got the technical decision win.

Meanwhile, Ayaka Miura stunned Samara Santos with a second-round submission.

Miura bounced back from nearly getting submitted in Round 1 and went on an Americana hold to force Santos to tap out at the 39-second mark of Round 2.

In the other early bouts, Muhammad Aiman and Miao Li Tao scored unanimous decision victories against Sunoto and Pongsiri Mitsatit respectively.
