CAPAS--The Southeast Asian Games will not start until late November, but a bunch of future events are set to take place at the new New Clark City Sports Hub here.

In a press conference during the first day of the Philippine National Open Swimming Championships on Saturday, no less than Mayor Rey Catacutan said that there is already a scheduled event right after the ASEAN Para Games.

"Meron na tayong scheduled na hosting ng SCUAA (State College and University Athletic Association) come February. Yung state colleges and universities ng Central Luzon [ang kasali]," Catacutan said.

Lani Velasco, the president of Philippine Swimming, then bared a plan for the Philippines to host the 2021 Asian Age Group Swimming Championship.

"We are in the process of fixing and presenting all our documents, and we will bid for that," said Velasco.

Velasco also said that the said venue will be open for those who will train for the Tokyo Olympics next year.

"Because it's a FINA-accredited pool, it can be the training ground for all European and US-based swimmers who are preparing for the Tokyo Olympics," Velasco continued.
