Nguyen stays as One featherweight champ; Jitmuangnon new One Muay Thai flyweight titlist

PASAY--Martin Nguyen remained as the One featherweight champion after beating Koyomi Matsushima in the main event of One: Dawn of Heroes at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday night.

Nguyen turned up the notch in Round 2, eventually delivering continuous ground-and-pound action on Matsushima that forced Referee Olivier Coste to call it a night at the 4:40 mark of the said period.

On the other hand, Rodtang Jitmuangnon is the new One Muay Thai flyweight champ after winning over erstwhile title holder Jonathan Haggerty in the co-main event.

A fourth round knockdown by the Thai veteran set up the pace for the unanimous decision win against his British opponent.
