MANILA--Pasig Chooks failed to post a good start to its FIBA 3x3 Xiongan Challenger campaign after losing to Beijing, 14-22, in Pool C play on Friday night.

A huge 12-0 run by the Chinese side decided the match as it raced to a comfortable 14-5 lead following a quick 5-2 start by Pasig and never looked back.

Ju Mingxin put up nine points, while Zheng Yi added five for Beijing.

Joshua Munzon made eight markers for Pasig Chooks, who missed the presence of Taylor Statham as Beijing barreled its way in the paint.

Pasig now needs to beat The Hague later Friday to get a shot at making the quarterfinals of the tournament, a qualifier for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Los Angeles Masters.

The Scores:

Beijing 22 - Ju 9, Zheng 5, Li 4, Liu 4.

Pasig 14 - Munzon 8, Ababou 3, Pavlovic 2, Rike 1.
