San Beda spoils Letran's 5-game winning streak

PASAY CITY - The San Beda Red Lions blemished the winning streak of the Letran Knights, handing them a 70-66 upset, Saturday afternoon at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Evan Nelle and James Kwekuteye along with Donald Tankoua did everything in their might to stop the surging Knights, who took every chances that they could get into scoring.

It didn't matter that the Red Lions eventually lost Tankoua in the 4th quarter due to 5 fouls as Nelle and Kwekuteye were all that Coach Boyet Fernandez needed to stop the Knights in their late rally after trailing by as much as 13 points.

Nelle and Tankoua leed the scoring for the Red Lions with 18 and 15 points, respectively.

Balanza and Ular topped the score sheet for the Knights, finishing with 20 and 11 points.
