San Juan sets MPBL record for best start with win vs. Nueva Ecija

MANILA—San Juan set the new MPBL record for the best start ever with a 109-95 home rout of Nueva Ecija at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City on Monday night.

San Juan pulled away from Nueva Ecija after a 32-12 second quarter that turned a 23-26 deficit to a 55-38 lead by halftime.

San Juan even stretched its lead to as high as 26 points before settling for the 14-point win.

John Wilson put up 26 points, three rebounds, three assists, and five steals for San Juan, which moved up to 9-0.

Mac-Mac Cardona added 18 points, six rebounds, and three assists off the bench.

Marlon Monte made 27 markers, seven rebounds, four dimes, and one steal for Nueva Ecija, which fell to 2-6.
