QUEZON CITY - The San Miguel Beermen came out hungry to clinch the 2019 Commissioner's Cup title on their shelf at the end of the day, routing the TnT KaTropa, 102-90, in Game 6 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum on Friday night.
Living up to his word, Chris McCullough came in prepared, finishing off with 35 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists to lead the Beermen to the championship.
"It feels good to be a champion," said McCullough, who won his first professional championship.
Despite the efforts coming from TnT to take the lead, San Miguel came out strong, asserting that the Beermen would close the series out with them walking away with the trophy.
The KaTropa had the chance to come close to the gritty Beermen in the fourth period through the efforts of Jayson Castro, Terrence Jones and Brian Heruela.
Castro, however, fouled out with over three minutes left in the ball game to stop the clock and prevent the Beermen from scoring further.
Terrence Romeo was named as the Finals MVP despite finishing with only 10 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists in Game 6.
