QUEZON CITY - The San Miguel Beermen did not disappoint their fans that filled almost the entire Smart-Araneta Coliseum to support them for Game 4 of the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals as they romped the TnT KaTropa, 106-101, Sunday night.

The Beermen came out strong against them, limiting Jones to scoring just 1 point in the first quarter.

It was Alex Cabagnot who has had an impressive start in the game, making 13 points in the first quarter alone.

The Beermen led by as much as 10 points in the opening quarter, but a split by Jones made it a 9-point trail for the KaTropa at the quarter buzzer to tally in a 31-22 score.

Jones sizzled in the second quarter, scoring 16 points as he led the KaTropa in keeping Chris McCullough and Cabagnot from scoring for the Beermen.

Outside shooting also worked for the KaTropa in the period, paving the way for the KaTropa to lead by 1, 52-51, coming into the halftime break.

From the halftime break, San Miguel came back with vengeance as June Mar Fajardo scored 10 straight points to help the Beermen to clinch the lead.

The Beermen's defense worked well in the third period as they were able to keep the KaTropa from scoring.

San Miguel also outscored TnT in the quarter; 31-17, closing out with an 82-69 advantage.

As the 4th period came, tensions and frustrations go along with it midway in the quarter as both Jones and Arwind Santos were called for technical fouls for taunting.

Cooler heads prevailed later on and both teams continued to fight tooth and nail for the lead.

Free throw shooting also worked well for the Beermen in the final period as Cabagnot converted 4 points from the line while Chris Ross added 2 more points from the same area to affirm the victory for San Miguel.

The PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals will continue on Wednesday, still at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
