PASAY--Yuya Wakamatsu shocked the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday night after knocking out home country favorite Geje Eustaquio in the reserve bout for the One Flyweight Grand Prix.

In the final match of the preliminaries for One: Dawn of Heroes, the Japanese fighter landed a devastating right hook to Eustaquio that knocked the latter out at the 1:59 mark of the very first round.

Wakamatsu, the current Pancrase flyweight champ, will be a stand-in in the Grand Prix if one of the current contenders gets injured ahead of his match.

Danny Kingad will take on Reece McLaren, and Demetrious Johnson will battle Tatsumitsu Wada in the semifinals of the GP later Friday.

On the other hand, Honorio Banario also bowed in his fight against Park Dae-Sung.

Park nearly knocked Banario out in the first round after connecting on a high kick and a left-hand punch, setting the pace for a unanimous decision win.

Daichi Takenaka also scored a knockout win against Leandro Issa.

Despite being bloodied, Takenaka delivered the final blow on Issa with a left hook in the second round of their encounter.

The other late prelim bout saw James Nakashima beating Yushin Okami via unanimous decision.
