7's FL returns for Season 4; Division 2 makes debut

MANILA--On Sept. 8, the Philam Life 7s Football League will kick off their fourth season this Sunday at the McKinley Stadium in Taguig City.

This season, the league has expanded to 12 teams for the each of the Men’s and Women’s Division. Also, the Men’s Division 2 will be making a debut with a total of 10 teams.

The Men’s Division will feature defending champions Ghana FC with Super Eagles, Real Amigos, Laro FC, Futbol Funatics, Monte Manila, Superbad FC, Tondo FC, Bohemian Sporting Club, DMatsunaga Football Academy, Matu Deportivo and Mondo International.

Outkast FC will start defending their title in the Women’s Division.

Rounding up the division are Stallion-Hiraya FC, Bohemian Sporting Club, Superbad-Azzuri, Azzuri Ladies, Azzuri Girls, Payatas FC, Beach Hut, Futbol Funatics, Kaya FC, Nomads and Sims United.

The debuting Men’s Division 2 will feature Komrads-Pangulo, DNO FC, Laro B, Manhur, Manila Kings, Mendiola, Paha FC, Philippine Coastguard Azzuri, Spoly and Team Soccerroo.

The youth divisions will simultaneously start on opening day with 8 teams each for U15, U13, U11, and U9.

Provincial legs Bacolod, Cebu, Iloilo, and Davao concurrently will hold their own openings on the same day. Batangas will also follow in October.

“The competition within the 7s is going to be strong this year,” said league founder Anton del Rosario. “All the teams are training now. All the teams have extra additions. We have players like Stephan Shrock that will be playing in the league. The league is going to be exciting.”

In addition to the weekly Sunday affair, the league will host a CSR program to 50 kids from Young Focus in Tondo.

This 1-hour training program will be headed by Tondo FC’s very own Coach Mark Dennis Balbin.
