Ateneo finishes strong, beats Adamson to start three-peat bid

QUEZON CITY - The Ateneo Blue Eagles started its quest for three-peat with a bang, as they beat the Adamson Soaring Falcons by a 18-point lead, 70-52, Wednesday evening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.


Angelo Kouame led the Blue Eagles with 17 points, 11 rebounds, six blocks and three steals that greatly helped the Blue Eagles in the win.

Matt Nieto contributed 14 points, four assists and two boards, while Thirdy Ravena also contributed a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds alongside four dimes, one steal and one rejection.

Will Navarro also chipped in nine points and 11 boards for the Blue Eagles win.

Adamson's Fil-Peruvian transferee Valandre Chauca led the Soaring Falcons with 17 points and four assists in a game where Jerrick Ahanmisi and Lenda Douanga were only limited to seven points each.

Ateneo will face their archrival La Salle on Sunday, 4 p.m., at the Smart Araneta Coliseum while Adamson will try to gain a win as they will face NU on Saturday, 2 p.m., also at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
