Ginebra quickly pounces on Alaska to open Governors' Cup campaign

BINAN--Ginebra opened its stint in the PBA Governors' Cup with a sound 102-83 beating of Alaska at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Sunday night.

The Barangay began the game with a bang, outscoring the Aces, 29-13, in the first quarter to set up the quick blowout.

Justin Brownlee put up 30 points, 22 rebounds, four assists, and three steals for Ginebra, which is hoping to reclaim the championship in the season-ending conference that it lost last year.

Greg Slaughter added 16 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks.

Justin Watts came up with 22 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block for Alaska, which fell to 0-2 in the tournament.
