MANILA--The Chef de Mission (CDM) team, headed by Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William "Butch" Ramirez, will meet the competition managers, presidents and secretaries general of national sports associations on Friday at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
The gathering, set to begin 10 a.m., will discuss several important matters in preparation for the upcoming hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
The said meeting will also be attended by Mr. Tom Carrasco, who will represent the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) as the Director of Operations.
In a regular CDM team meeting held on Wednesday, it was decided to convene the said officials to tackle issues on ticketing, venues, protocol matters, billeting, transportation and the Torch Run as part of the preparations for the biennial meet set Nov. 30 - Dec. 11.
Ramirez, also the Chef de Mission of Team Philippines, said that should any mistake or lapses arise, the PSC will be there to make sure that everything will be in place for the hosting of the 11-nation meet, with barely two months away before the big event.
"If there are any lapses, the PSC will come in to fill in the gaps. We have no more time. We have just a bit over two months before the Games," said Ramirez.
He added that President Rodrigo Duterte wants no less than an excellent hosting of the Games as the government’s commitment to the Filipino people.
This is the fifth time that the CDM team has called a meeting with the NSA officials to resolve a handful of important issues.
