KAOHSIUNG--Less than 24 hours after suffering a tough loss to Balanga in the finale of the Magiting Cup, Pasig Chooks could not score an upset, Saturday.

The top 3x3 team in the Philippines was overwhelmed by world no. 10 Edmonton, 12-21 (8:59), to open their 2019 Kaohsiung Challenger campaign.

The loss sent Pasig Chooks to a must-win situation against qualifying draw A survivor Panaji 3BL of India. The game takes place at 8:50 pm.

This game though was just too tough for the Philippine-based club.

Canadian sharpshooter Steve Sir caught fire early, helping Edmonton gain an early 10-3 cushion just four minutes into the contest.

Though the trio of Joshua Munzon, Dylan Ababou, and Nikola Pavlovic chopped the lead down to three, 9-12, with 4:34 remaining, Sir was just getting started. He fired off five straight points before Kyle Landry finished the game with 1:01 to spare.

Munzon paced Pasig with seven points while Pavlovic added four markers.

Sir torched the Philippines with 12 points built on three deuces, five one-pointers, and a free throw.

The Scores:

Edmonton 21 - Sir 12, Landry 7, Otieno 2.

Pasig 12 - Munzon 7, Pavlovic 4, Ababou 1, Rike 0.
